Become a better leader with mindfulness

Our society today has caused us to develop a habit of multi tasking. Everybody is rushing to reach somewhere, to finish something at the fastest pace, to buy more time. A lot of us are not aware that we are running through life with the autopilot mode. Here is a question for you. Are you really managing things better when you are doing a few things at the same time? Or does it contribute to more mistakes, and hence, creates even more trouble for you? We all are only given 24 hours in a day. No more, and no less. The most efficient leaders know that by being mindful of their every action and thoughts, they are managing every attempt with the best approach, to reach the best outcome in their every pursuit. So how do they come about managing people and matters in the most efficient way?

Great leaders practice mindfulness. What is mindfulness? Mindfulness is a state of mind, where you are focusing on the present. It is when you are strongly aware of everything you are attempting at that very moment of time. How does mindfulness work? Mindfulness is working when you are aware of every little thing in your present moment.

Mindfulness helps you create awareness. It reminds us to focus on what we are currently attempting, how you are attempting it, and what you are experiencing during the attempt. When you are mindful, you are able to look at every detail of your attempts precisely, therefore practicing mindfulness gives us a tremendous amount of awareness. Good awareness gives you a better observation on your thoughts, actions and decisions. You are able to have a better clarity on your thoughts and actions when you are observing them at a deeper level, as though you are looking into your own mind. Think of it like playing a video game. You control your character, you observe your every action and you are strongly aware of every decision you make. So you are in complete control of yourself, as you are the player and also the character. Isn’t it much easier to observe your own actions and make better decisions when you are in control of your own character?

We have all experienced reacting to a situation emotionally, without really being aware of it. Successful leaders are able to manage their emotions better than the average people. That is because they are always aware of their emotions, and are able to control and manage them to their benefit. Being aware of your thoughts lets you master your emotion.
When you master your emotions, you reduce conflict within yourself and with others. You are also able to manage others by creating awareness in them. When you are able to properly manage the people around you, you minimize the chaos at work, so productivity and efficiency at workplace become highly possible.

In order to stay productive and efficient, it is extremely important to always be aware of your health conditions. Mindfulness practice helps you observe your health physically and emotionally to make sure you are always operating in the best condition. Being sensible to your health gives you constant energy to operate properly in your personal and professional lives. When your body is at ease, you will have a clearer thought to take better actions, and make a better decision.

Mindfulness practice improves home life by minimizing conflict at home. The last thing you want is to have a disastrous situation when you get home from a long day at work. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be in peace when you get home from a busy day at work? A happy family life contributes to a decent professional life. Mindful leaders know how to operate their home life properly, to give them better purpose in pursuing success in their career. With less conflict at home, you can be sure that your professional pursue will not be a hinder.

Achieve the clarity in a deeper level of what you are pursuing by practicing mindfulness in your daily routine. Mindfulness is about loving your life. Cultivate this love to give you clarity in your life, and your life will work accordingly. Great leaders cherish the present moment as they know that it is filled with joy and happiness. Be attentive to it, and you will see it.
