The irony of Daily Stormer having its’ voice of hate snuffed out is that Republicans blocked one of the only avenues remaining for continuing their hatred online:
S.J.Res. 34: A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Federal Communications Commission relating to “Protecting the Privacy of Customers of Broadband and Other Telecommunications Services”.
Maintaining this protection would have prevented any Internet Service Provider (ISP) from interfering with Daily Stormer (and/or a coalition of other hate groups) from setting up their own server and using it to host their website. It would then be illegal for AT&T, UUNet, Comcast, or whatever ISP from saying ‘this content violates our terms of service.’ Because the traffic would’ve been protected like the electricity powering the servers.
