The Young Brits Launch

On Wednesday 30 May 2012, the Young Brits Network was officially launched at a reception hosted at the Institute of Directors. Some of the UK’s biggest enterprise providers, VIPs, entrepreneurs and the business press celebrated the initiative and heard how the network will offer access to international research and intelligence, as well as focus groups with some of the world’s leading opinion formers.
The first project for Young Brits was the curation of a delegation of young entrepreneurs, who flew out to the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Summit in Mexico City, and joined over 400 other entrepreneurs from across the world to discuss enterprise policy and challenge the barriers that entrepreneurs face when trying to start up.
Co-founder Alex Mitchell said, “We feel that we fill a pretty unique space in the sector and we’re keen for organisations with similar goals to engage with us. It is only through collaborative efforts that the collective opportunities will be created to provide the long term sustainable impact we need.”
Co-founder Glynn Pegler continued, “There is a lot of great work happening in the enterprise sector and we recognised that there was a need for a network that could link things together, at the same time championing the best of UK enterprise talent to the rest of the world.”
