All the taste of a latte, without dairy or caffeine: this spiced, turmeric infused nut milk latte recipe from Culture Whisper’s resident foodie is the perfect guilt-free pick me up — with a generous shot of health benefits too.

You will love this creamy golden milk. It is an immune boosting snack that you can serve iced on a hot summer day or warm in the winter months for a comforting feeling.

Turmeric is a spice that has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine for its amazing health benefits. It is a potent anti-oxidant, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory and can benefit digestion, immunity, liver health and possible protection from cancer.

Serves 1

1 cup cashew nut milk (you can use another plant milk or a full fat organic milk)

1 tsp ground turmeric

1 large pinch of ground cardamom

1 tsp coconut oil

A pinch of black pepper (to enhance the absorption of curcumin)

A pinch of fresh grated fresh ginger

1 cinnamon stick or ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

1 tsp of raw honey (optional)

3 ice cubes

For the nut milk:

Soak the cashew nuts in water for 3 hours.

Drain and rinse the nuts and then place in a blender with 4 cups of filtered water and a pinch of sea salt.

Strain through a nut milk bag or a muslin sheet.

For the turmeric iced latte:

Blend one cup of milk with all the ingredients above and blitz for 30 seconds. Enjoy!
