I’ve eaten “natto” (Japanese fermented soybeans) for 30 days in a row, and this is what happened in my body.

Most famous, but affordable Okame Natto

Yes, I love Natto, and I eat it from time to time.

But this time, I was going to eat Natto EVERY DAY, 30 days in a row, and trying to see what it do to my body and mind.

Natto is the traditional Japanese soybeans that are fermented with bacillus subtilis.

It smells terrible, awful, but tastes good. People often eat it in the morning with cooked rice in Japan. I like eating it with raw egg and dip of soy source mixed.

People say Natto is good for health, even my Japanese grandparents would say the same thing, but we never know how it’s good for health and what level. So that’s what I was going to find out.

In conclusion, it is super tasty, and I am healthier, my mind is clear, and even my skin is in better condition.

I lost body fat

I was not on any diet, but I lost my body fat from 16% to 14% in 30 days.

It is not body weight but body fat. I usually go to the gym twice a week, on average, doing some weight training and little cardio, and I’ve been doing this even before start eating Natto every day.

I did not lose bodyweight, but lost body fat, so it means I am leaner than before.

I think part of the reason is that Natto is rich in the protein sources. One package of Natto contains around 17g of protein.

Adding 17g of protein in the morning every day could result in a leaner body.

Bathroom every morning

I gain more regular bowel movement, and it comes every morning.

I was not that regular before, but I have been eating Natto every day, it became my morning routine.

You know it feels good. I feel like I am starting the day with a new body and feel light and flexible.

I don’t get distracted by that during the day, and can concentrate on what I am going.

My skin is in better condition.

I am not a nutritionist, so I am not sure how it worked, but my skin is better than before.

I think it is something to do with Natto’s bacillus subtilis, or maybe with my regular bowel movement.

Now I have less pimple, less dryness, and less inflammation, and my skin is smoother.

The first one noticed it is my wife. So it was evident from another person as I feel.

Saved more money

This result is easy to be anticipated. Natoo is cheap.

One set of Natto (like my top picture) usually comes with three packs of Natto, and it cost less than a dollar.

You are eating rice and about 34 cents each morning, very affordable.

One downside of eating Natto

The only thing I do not like about Natto is not its smell, you can brush your teeth after, but it is just messy eating it.

Natto is sticky. When you eat it with chopsticks, it always touches my lip.

You always have to wash your lip after eating Natto. Moreover, you have to watch your dish right away, and through the empty container away immediately, because it creates an awful smell if you keep Natto on the table or sink.

If you are busy in the morning, and every minute’s costs, this is critical, at least for me.

In the hectic morning, sometimes I replace daily Natto to “Natto Maki,” the sushi rolls with Natto in a convenience store.

Because the Natto is physically inside of rice, it won’t make my lips or dishes messy.
