You have to get through a lot of shit in life. You have to deal with all the problems and the trials, and at the end of it, you might not have the money or success that you’ve been told you’re going to earn. If you’ve built your life around that, and if you only measure your life’s worth through that, you’re going to fall apart.
The important thing is realizing that there’s more to life than all these “success” markers — there’s the way we struggle against the things we have to overcome, the way we treat other people, the way we react to bad news, how well we can cook a good steak. There’s happiness in those things, too.
