The Washington Nationals beat the New York Mets, 5–1, on Tuesday night in game two of this three-game series…Cory Abbott (5.0 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 SO) outdueled Jacob deGrom (5.0 IP, 3 H, ER, 6 SO), while Luis García (2-for-4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI) and Yadiel Hernandez (1-for-3, HR, RBI, R) hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning.

· The night was capped off by Joey Meneses, who clubbed his first career home run as his first hit in his Major League debut…It was a solo home run in the seventh inning off Yoan Lopez.
