When looking at tools to automate your infrastructure the options can be overwhelming. Many of those tools will have overlapping functionality, and each tool differs in how it implements features and functionality. Ansible “pushes” configuration changes to servers while Chef prefers an agent running on the server pull the configuration changes down. Additionally, each tool has different strengths. Tools like Puppet, Chef and Ansbile are awesome at managing servers but less strong at overall infrastructure management.
