How many Muslims do you know? Believe it or not the majority of Muslims are just people like anyone else. They want to live their lives securely and comfortably. They struggle with their own fallablity and the ideals of their faith, just as the followers of any religion do. Clearly there are groups of Muslims who have decided that their faith requires extreme, brutal and inhumane actions but there are those groups in any religion. Just look at my own religion of Buddhism. It is generally thought to be as far from confrontational as a religion can be. Unfortunately and horribly there are Buddhists in Burma tviolently persecuting Muslims. If you do not know any Buddhists — and few people in the US do — it would be easy to assume they (we) are all like that. Judging Muslims on the basis of the actions of ISIS is like judging Christianity on the hate-filled Westboro Baptist Church. As the Great Teacher said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”
