Trump’s Response to “Pussy” Question at the Debate

A strategy on how Trump can turn defense into offense.

TRUMP: “You want to focus on this tape, stir this tabloid stuff up and create a moral panic when it’s convenient for you — and yet whenever it’s brought up that, still to this day there are people that have maintained for many years the accusation that your husband, former President Bill Clinton who was impeached over his sexual impropriety, raped them.

You say in your own words that no woman should be silenced, that every woman who claims they’ve been raped should be listened to and believed until proven otherwise, and yet you act as if it’s a “low blow” to bring this up, which is absurd considering how tabloid your treatment of me is. Audio of something I’ve said is not comparable to what your husband has done, that he was impeached for, and what many women claim he has done. Women you silence. I know Bill isn’t running for President here, but you are, and you silence these people. You silence people who may be victims of rape because they accuse your husband. You continue a political marriage with a man who may well be a rapist. This is what you’re willing to do for power. Create a false image, silence those in your party and in your bedroom and silence the voices of liberals at your strategically closed polls. These good liberal people, they wanted to show up to the poll and tell you they didn’t want you. They wanted Bernie Sanders, but you didn’t want to hear it so you silenced them.

But, of course, the whole “listen and believe” thing is a slippery slope, as it’s simply easy for either of us to produce rape accusers for the other. When you create a system by which 99% of people fight over the scraps of the wealth of the 1%, and I know this because I’ve lived it from the perspective of the 1%, it’s easy to find someone among those millions of people who will sell anything — even unfounded accusations. That’s the system you and your friends and your cronies have created, and that you tell Wall Street in your speeches that you intend to protect despite what you tell the public, and I may sound like I’m echoing Bernie here, but he was right. He was right about the elite controlled system, he was right about the rigged democracy, and he was right about politicians and pundits and media focusing on tabloid scandals instead of these very real and very important issues impacting Americans today. and that’s the system I intend to dismantle as President. Thank you.”
