I’m very grateful for this article because Pharos: Doing Justice to the Classics (inspired, as I wrote on Eidolon, by one of the strategies in Donna Zuckerberg’s article you mentioned!) does, I hope, a good job of raising awareness of the problem of hate groups appropriating ancient Greece and Rome but doesn’t say much about what we should do about it. Our “Scholars Respond” pieces accomplish a lot, I think, but I doubt they convert anyone from white supremacy to feminism (they might convert someone from thinking history is apolitial to feminism though). Thanks for the reminder that understanding the problem is important too.
