Curu Referral Program — Guidelines, Terms and Conditions

Get paid $10 every time you refer a friend who gets a credit card and starts building credit through Curu!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Refer Curu to a friend who needs to get a credit card and start building credit.
  2. When someone you referred creates a Curu account and gets a credit card through Curu, email Abb@curucredit.com with their name, the credit card they applied for and date of the application.
  3. Once we are notified that their application has been approved, you will get an email notification and $10!

Payments made via PayPal or Venmo. Friends must sign up on or after 8/31/2018. Bonuses are paid out by 9/15/2018. Referrals who close their account before 9/01/2018 or don’t get their credit card application accepted will not qualify for the promotion.

Terms & Conditions

Participants (the “Participant”) in the Curu Referral Program (“Program”) are subject to Curu’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (both available on our website), as well as the following additional Terms & Conditions for the Program (specified below). By participating in the Program, each participant represents and warrants that he/she has read and agrees to be bound by the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and these Terms & Conditions for the Program.

  • Eligibility. Curu’s Credit Cards (“Program Credit Card”) are presently available only to individual United States citizens and legal United States residents at least 18 years old. Current employees of Curu and their parents, children, siblings, spouses or domestic partners are not eligible for the Program. You may refer friends to Curu under the Program even if you have not opened an account or credit card through Curu.
  • Referral Award. If a friend that you referred (the “Referral”) applies for a credit card through the Curu iOS app or web application and has the credit card application approved, you will receive a payment of $10 from Curu. Payment only received after BOTH the credit card application is approved AND applicant has made a Curu account. Only one payment to a referring person will be awarded per accepted Program Credit Card. No other line of credit or financial product the Referral obtains while using Curu will constitute for earnings through the Program.

Notice: If two or more individuals refer the same friend, referral credit will be given based on which link the friend used to apply for a Program Credit Card through Curu’s website. If a friend that you referred is a previous recipient of a Program Credit Card, you will not receive any payment for new Program Credit Cards that are funded. Lending decisions are not impacted in any way by participation in the Program.

  • Payment. Payment to the Participant shall occur via PayPal to the email address given by participants in the Program. You must have an active PayPal account to receive a payment (or reach out to Abb@curucredit.com). Curu will make reasonable efforts for the payments to occur on the fifth day of the month following funding of the Program Credit Card. All federal, state and local taxes and duties are the sole responsibility of the Participant. Payments may not be transferred; no substitutions.
  • Advertising. The Participant is subject to follow Curu’s advertisement disclosure (available on the website). That means that The Participant will NOT direct referrals to any specific credit card or card provider. Instead, the Participant can only direct user to Curu’s app or website and the referral must view & select a Program Credit Card offer for themselves.
  • Taxes. If ten or more of the friends you refer are approved for Program Credit Cards, we’ll send you a 1099-MISC form to use when filing your taxes.
  • Referral Courtesy. Referral messages should be sent only through the Program as described in these Terms & Conditions. Please send your referrals only to eligible friends, and refrain from mass emailing colleagues and former classmates. Use only truthful, non-misleading statements that accurately reflect Program Credit Cards and the Program when sending a referral message.
  • No Spam or Solicitation. Referring persons must comply with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, including up-to-date “SPAM” laws. For example, emails must be created and distributed in a personal manner. Bulk email distribution and any use of automated devices or third party services is prohibited and can lead to disqualification from the program. By participating in the Program, participants agree not to solicit applications for credit cards and will restrict their activities to informing their personal contacts about Curu’s credit card options. Any mass distribution of Curu’s Referral Program that could constitute unsolicited commercial email or “spam” under any applicable law or regulation, or that otherwise violates any restriction imposed by Curu or is otherwise inappropriate as determined by Curu in its sole discretion, is expressly prohibited and will be grounds for immediate exclusion from the Program.
  • Right to Cancel Program or Change Terms. Curu reserves the right to cancel the Program or to change these Terms & Conditions at any time in its sole discretion. Any unclaimed referral rewards will be forfeited at that time. Curu reserves the right to disqualify anyone from this Program if any participant abuses this Program, as determined by Curu in its sole discretion.
