Who are you, Cypherpunk? The story about the Cypherpunk NFT Collection
Perhaps many of you, after seeing NFT and Punk, thought that this project is somehow connected with popular Crypto Punks, but it’s not true.
We are Cypherpunks.
We are an informal group of people interested in maintaining anonymity and cryptography.
We can call ourselves the creators of the NFT collection, which combines art, anonymity and Easter eggs.
Initially, cypherpunks communicated using a network of anonymous remailers. The goal of this group was to achieve anonymity and security thanks to the active implementation of cryptography.
What do cypherpunks preach?
One of the founders of the direction released a whole manifesto, where in a few paragraphs he explains the necessity of privacy on the web. Privacy enables a person to choose what personal data to reveal publically. Secrecy is the desire to protect information from absolutely everyone. While secrecy fundamentally contradicts the whole idea of the Internet, people should still have the right to privacy.
The manifesto mainly emphasizes the protection of transactions including letters delivery, money operations, and information exchange. Electronic currencies and signatures, cryptography, open code for secure information exchange and everything that can help to achieve maximum confidentiality — these are primary tasks of the cypherpunk society. What is the NTF Cypherpunk collection?
Our collection consists of 30 NFT images. Each NFT is unique in its own way because it performs a part of the cypherpunks’ story. Each NFT is a reference to a hero who influenced the cyber industry.
All our NFTs have a brief description of mysterious characters who are represented in the images. And hidden easter eggs will help you guess who hides under the mask.
The starting bid for each subsequent NFT will increase by 15%. Each subsequent NFT goes on auction every week. Some NFTs conceal valuable easter eggs.
Cypherpunk is not just a collection, it’s also what stands behind it.
