Rest. Nobody can fight every day. If you don’t step back from time to time, you’ll burn yourself out and become more bitter. That helps no one. There are a lot of people working to change things. They’re not going to give up just because you take some time for yourself. You aren’t obligated to fight the way others expect you to (or to fight, at all). I’m willing to bet your writing does far more good than attending a march would.

Also, I’m sorry your experience in Louisiana was less than positive. I’m not in New Orleans, but I interact with minorities more often here than I did in Boston. My boss is also a black woman.
