Tonight, the Skydance Pedestrian Bridge in Oklahoma City will light up in Navy Blue and Yellow to celebrate the contributions of Dreamers and Immigrant Youth in Oklahoma.

On December 8th, the Skydance Pedestrian Bridge in Oklahoma City will light up in Navy Blue and Yellow to celebrate the contributions of Dreamers and Immigrant Youth in Oklahoma.

On December 8, just over three months since the administration’s decision to end DACA, the Skydance Bridge will be lit up in Navy Blue and Yellow to celebrate the contributions of Dreamers and immigrant youth in Oklahoma.

DAOK requested the lighting to raise awareness on the urgency of passing a legislative solution before Congress leaves home for the holiday recess.

“Every single day, DACA recipients fall out of status and become vulnerable to deportation,” said Jessica Vazquez, DAOK’s Communication Director. “They are our friends, our neighbors, our co-workers, our students; some qualified for DACA, others were left out for no good reason. All of them, however, make Oklahoma the great state we’ve grown to know and love. That’s why we’re urging Congress to take action before the year ends and pass a Dream Act now.”

Supporters will gather at the Skydance Pedestrian bridge with signs and a banner to show their support.

Jose Rubio, a DAOK Coordinator and DACA recipient, will lead a prayer and send Congress a clear message: Oklahoma needs a Dream Act, and we need it now.
