It’s officially been 3 months since I began my exploration of the DAO universe, and in such a short period of time I’ve managed to comfortably immerse myself into a variety of decentralized communities.
The lessons I’ve taken away have been insightful to say the least. I’ve seen internal conflict arise, witnessed its resolution, learned about the dynamics of diverse individuals in virtual ecosystems and participated in organizing DAO workshops, proposing, voting and being awarded funding for my participation. It’s all been very exciting, but at the same time overwhelming and eyeopening.
Hot off the tails of our debut release on DAOrecords — Got Skills — We are back with a few Exciting Updates and some New Music we’re preparing for release in March 2020!

Just over 5 months ago, after two winners were crowned in the “Battle For Malaysia”, we started our journey to create an anthem for TYGS Hip Hop Battle Series and showcase the amazing talent Malaysia has to offer the world.

Since then I’d been thinking of how to utilize the concept of non-fungible tokens in a way that would be exciting and add value to those who might be interested in purchasing them.
After stumbling into the Crypto Art scene I was introduced to a number of platforms and reached out to some of them with the idea…

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — An unlikely collaboration emerges as the two winners of TYGS (Think You Got Skillz) Battle For Malaysia join forces to create what will be the first ‘Anthem’ for the Hip Hop Battle Series. Tommy “Tymmo” Seow spits hard hitting rhymes while Izzad “IZZ4D” Sarip provides the hypnotic soundtrack on a song that will be featured as the first-ever release on DAOrecords. Accompanied by a special appearance by DJ Lethal Skillz, who adds his turntablist touch to showcase an aspect that is severely lacking in today’s Hip Hop.
DAOrecords Partners with TYGS for Debut Release
The release, to be announced later in the week, will be the first song to hit streaming platforms from DAOrecords and will feature the two winners of the TYGS ‘Battle For Malaysia’ competition held last year.
The partnership is expected to result in additional content created by the TYGS talent pool through a series of exclusive competitions that will be held throughout 2020, focusing…
It goes without saying that most companies operating in (and around) the Music Industry operate with a for-profit model and are in the “business of music”. It also goes without saying that many an Artist has had the displeasure of being exploited, cheated and abused in countless ways due to a lack of business ‘savvy’. Where there is a need for “ownership” there will always be the “owned”, and in the case of Record Labels the world over, this dynamic continues to play out today.
