You see, that’s precisely my point. The degree to which one conforms or does not conform to a given gender is utterly irrelevant. Gender roles are not a real thing — they exist as a construct which we have created through our need to classify and organise things. As a social construct, they only hold us back. Gender, or more accurately sex, matters from a biological standpoint because males and females process chemicals differently and have different physiological needs. Anything beyond that, in my humble opinion, is superfluous, and at this point is only holding us back. These labels are not helping us move forward, and I’m of the mind that we need to transcend them. People should be accepted for who they are, and shouldn’t be afraid of that because of some arbitrary label.
