When a Software Developer Goes Nursing

After many years of developing software, I’ve decided to become a Registered Nurse.

This is the beginning of something I need to do. I told myself I wouldn’t have time to write articles while working my way through school, but I have to find time. To borrow an old cliche: “It’s about the journey.” That journey is also likely to last many years, and if you work in technology, particularly in software development, you know that in only two years the technical landscape will have shifted dramatically.

What follows will hopefully be a series of articles that present my thoughts and maybe a little research into how we build, use and maintain technology that will be used in health care as customers, administrators and as providers.

I have a lot to share, but not a lot of time to share it, so my goal will be to start by writing small — say 300 words. There’s no excuse not it read it, and hopefully that will give you some time to comment and share your own thoughts!
