The Divine Child Community Finally Comes Home

Last Friday, August 26th, was the day of the first game on the newly 3 million-dollar constructed field at Divine Child High School that the students and staff can finally call their home. Everyone in the Parish was there early to see the opening ceremony to kick off the opening of the new facility, where Fr. Jim and Fr. Kopson lead the entire community in prayer before the big game. Many past coaches and former members of the community as well as Dearborn mayor John B. O’ Riley attended the game to see what was in store for the event.

The event was also iconic for the marching band because they were already celebrating their 50th anniversary of the band program at the high school. For this year’s halftime show they played a set themed, “The Best of Pixar and Bond.” The set consised of a Pixar theme melody from many of their famous movies as well as Skyfall and the theme of the James Bond movies.

In the end it was a huge event for all the members of the community and the enormous amount of money put into the project payed off for the memories of this game and the many other games to come.
