The Messestadion seems to be cursed for the HCB Südtirol. The Dornbirn Bulldogs won their seventh consecutive home game 4:3. The last time that the Foxes were successful in Vorarlberg dates from October 8, 2013. It was then that the Italians defeated the Bulldogs on their home ice, for the first and only time.

Olivier Magnan (15.) with a shot from the blueline and Kyle Greentree (19.) with a slapshot from central position made for the 2:0-lead shortly before the first intermission. But the goals kept coming. With 28 seconds left in the first period Jerry Pollastrone (20.) took advantage of a confusing situation in front of the Bulldogs goal and scored the guest-goal number one. On top of that, with only eight seconds remaining, Bell (20.) took care of the 2:2-tie.

Similar to the first period, it took a while for the first goal in round two. Following an unused powerplay and icing by the home team, the Bulldogs were trying to catch their breath. Matthew Pope (39.) took advantage of the situation, and scored the 3:2-lead for his Foxes. Following a face off in the offensive zone, the puck found its way to Oliver Achermann (44.), who overcame HCB-goalie Hübl with a slapshot. Seconds before the end the first powerplay goal of the encounter brought about the decision. Martin Grabher Meier (60./pp1), assisted by James Livingston, made for the 4:3 of the Dornbirn Bulldogs.
