As a fellow Midwesterner, I despised having to always defend Nelly to native NY’ers or the “Nas is waaaay more dope than Nelly…” Like, no s**t. As if there wasn’t/isn’t room for both to co-exist.

I mean, what other rapper held it down for an entire region by mentioning White Castles — a Midwest institution of the highest order — in song?!
