We are glad to announce that the 1st DIMCOIN BURN has been done successfully. For our 1st DIMCOIN Burn (25. December 2019), DIM burned 837087958.667 DIMCOIN, equivalent to $34186.67 USD worth of DIMCOIN (Price at the time of writing: 0,00004084 $).
A few days back we announced the burn of 100% of the DIMCOIN that DIM is still holding on its Reserve Account, meaning 100% of the 5,022,527,752 DIMCOIN will be burnt over the course of the next 6 months. A portion of 1/6 will be burnt every 25th of each month, starting today December 25th 2019. We hope that the decrease of the total amount of DIMCOIN will increase the price over time. In addition we are working on providing real use cases for DIMCOIN with future projects and business owners.
To clarify another key point, DIM does not “buy back” DIMCOIN for the burn. There are some other communities that think conducting a “buy-back” is better. We believe this does not, in fact, achieve anything. We have reduced the total amount of issued DIMCOIN. We have burned the DIMCOIN from DIM RESERVE ACCOUNT address NDDRG3UEB5LZZZMDWBE4RTKZK73JBHPAIWBHCFMV by sending the amount of DIMCOIN to the NEM Nemesis Account NANEMOABLAGR72AZ2RV3V4ZHDCXW25XQ73O7OBT5.
