Was watching the Chase Jarvis interview with Tim Ferriss, and he dropped an insanely helpful piece of advice that, though I’ve heard it, being reminded of it consistently helps me push through those writers block.
“Write two crappy pages a day.”
In music you can read it as this: Make a crappy loops a day, make two crappy melodies a day, etc.
In this interview Tim talks about how IBM back in the day used to give their salespeople INCREDIBLY low daily goals as they knew one thing:
Once you get going it’s easy to continue going, so set goals that mentally make it easier for you to get the process rolling.
Obviously finishing the track once you get it going whole other discussion that there’s some great advice on, but for those of you who are struggling to even get the ball rolling hope this helps :)
