DEGEN NEWS attempts day in and day out to increase and diversify its readership.
One key performance metric on Twitter we attempt to maximize is the number of followers based on NFT PFP usage. As I write this, 15.3k Solana and 5.3k Ethereum profiles (47.3k uncategorized) follow DEGEN NEWS — numbers of other chains being significantly lower.
This data dispels the notion that DEGEN NEWS is followed by most of Solana’s communities, and is a reminder that we still have a lot of work to do when it comes to addressing the ETH audience. Although this metric does not mean that our reach is limited to those numbers, it does imply that we need to improve when it comes to acquiring recurrent readers (which is how we view our followers).
As of late, we have successfully increased the number of followers by 3K-5K per month, a trend we expect to continue (or improve) as we increase the quality of our coverage and successfully meet the market’s information needs. However, our aim is to substantially increase that incremental monthly change and attract a wider variety (in terms of chain) of profiles.
As of now, reader acquisition has been exclusively conducted via the DEGEN NEWS Tweets — a tactic that has worked but that needs to be integrated in a greater strategic plan. To increase reader acquisition rate and diversification, we will:
A. Deploy different Twitter accounts to report on communities that would otherwise not get coverage — first experiment being DEGEN SPICE (ongoing).
B. Diversify information channels to expand our TAM and allow the DEGEN NEWS multi-chain brand to grow beyond Twitter — updates to come soon.
Our team will be working on increasing our project’s reach at the same time as we develop our DEGEN HQ platform — in an effort to make sure that by the time our platform is ready, that we have done everything in our power to attract the attention required to maximize the likelihood of our product’s successful launch.
