“NEW YORK , THE CITY OF DREAMS”

Here’s a collection of places, events and incidents this year in the City of Dreams.

Sneak Peek at the NYC on the 4th of July

The Fireworks light up the NYC skyline in a celebration of America’s heroes & the resilience within all Americans!

“The city that Never Sleeps”…

Times Square

Times Square

No matter when you go to Times Square, it will be packed with people. There are pedestrian areas where you can chill & hang out and tons of overpriced restaurants and stores. Most visit it at night when it’s all lit up. That’s when it looks the best!

Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller Center

This area is always filled with hustle and bustle. Wander around Rockefeller Center to see where they film The Today Show, shop, snack, and take the elevator to the “Top of the Rock” for another bird’s-eye view of the city, which I personally think is better than the Empire State Building, since from the top of here you can get that building in your picture too.

Broadway Show

Broadway Show

One of the world’s busiest pedestrian areas, it is also the hub of the Broadway Theatre District and a major centre of the world’s entertainment industry. You can’t go to New York City, “the theatre capital of the world”, without seeing a show.

Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tours

The hop-on, hop-off tour makes it easy to see New York’s finest monuments and neighbourhoods in a convenient, cost-effective way. Stops include Times Square, the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Centre, among others.

Walk the Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge offers an easy 25-minute walk into Brooklyn and the waterfront park on the other side of the bridge. You get a lot of wonderful views of Manhattan as you make your way across.

FACTS ABOUT NYC -

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty was gifted by the French

Did you think that the Statue of Liberty was built in New York? Guess again. It was actually a gift from the People of France to the People of the United Stated back in 1886. This iconic statue is visited by millions of people each year!

Times Square is named after the New York Times

Before the New York Times moved to Times Square, this place was known as Longacre Square. One of the many interesting facts about New York that you probably didn’t know before reading this!

The first pizzeria in the United States opened in Lombardi

NYC in 1895.

Since the 1960s, the price of a slice of pizza has been roughly the same price as a subway ride, generating the idea of “Pizza Principle” among economists.

The Big Apple

New York, the most populous city in the United States, has been given many nicknames, including The City That Never Sleeps, Empire City, and Gotham — but perhaps the most famous one of all is the Big Apple.

Throughout its history, the term “big apple” has always come down to simply mean the best and biggest of places to be, and New York City has long lived up to its nickname. Once you’ve visited this seven-mile-long city, you’ll truly understand why it’s called the Capital of the World and the Big Apple.
