Expectations Achieved, Awards Received, Satisfied Attendees at the Malta Blockchain Summit (Photo & Video Recap)

Busy, but worthwhile! By all means, the much-anticipated Malta Blockchain Summit definitely fulfilled our high expectations. Check out the highlights!

It all started with the glamorous Malta Blockchain Awards ceremony, which was, in fact, a celebration of the achievements of individuals and companies in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. We had a privilege to be nominated as a candidate for the Careers Program of the Year Award, alongside two other companies. Here’s the outcome:

Kevin Norville, Director of People at DQR, and Dr Kristian Haehndel, CEO and Gounder, pose with the award

Marco Streng, CEO and Co-founder at Genesis Mining, also got a chance to address the crowd as he received the Mining Initiative of the Year Award.

The Malta Blockchain Summit officially started on November 1 at the InterContinental in St Julian’s. We were particularly looking forward to this event as we joined forces with the Genesis Mining team, our co-founding company. It was great having you around, guys!

For us, one of the highlights of the summit was definitely a joint presentation called ‘Crossing the Crypto Chasm’ by our CEO and Co-Founder Dr Kristian Haehndel, along with Marco Streng. We’re really happy with the way it turned out and we’d like to thank everyone that attended the session. In case you missed it, you can watch it below.

Additionally, the Genesis Mining CEO also participated in a panel entitled ‘Permissioned vs Permissionless Blockchains’, during which he explained how he and his team are ‘’building a decentralised backbone of the blockchain world.’’

During the summit, both Dr Haehndel and Streng had the privilege of being interviewed by several journalists, including Becky Liggero, Jimmy Chambrade, Amelia Tomasicchio, Nozomi Kondo, Quyen Nong, Oliver Acuna, Clara Holmstrom, Cyrielle Delmas, and others. I hope you got all the right answers!

The event was driven by the common goal of securing Malta’s position as the world’s leading blockchain jurisdiction, and attracted around 8,500 crypto enthusiasts and professionals from the ‘Blockchain Island’ and abroad.

We would like to express our thanks to everyone who helped and contributed to making this event a great success!
