If Cindy Hyde-Smith successfully defends her U.S. Senate seat tomorrow night, the end of a tumultuous election 2018 will leave the GOP with a little extra breathing room in the upper chamber, but without reason to crow enthusiastically about much other than avoidance of potentially worse losses in President Trump’s first midterm. However, Wednesday will start a new giant game of presidential politics addition, and from what I can tell MAGA is a bit behind an 8-ball with independents. Even his strong stance on U.S. border integrity will play better for DJT if he can regain some sway with the suburbanites he and the GOP need back.
