The Political Crisis of American Evangelicals

Trump Represents the Wages of Sin The Establishment Had Coming…Compassionate Conservatism Had Its Day

Any on fire born-again Christian of the past quarter century will tell you the nice guy Ned Flanders-type had his eight years in office and was widely and routinely mocked for it his entire tenure. He was also derided legitimately for the Iraq War and the federal government’s slow response to Hurricane Katrina, but former President George W. Bush is as close to a pure Evangelical as the United States is likely to elect for the foreseeable future. President Donald Trump hopefully proves to be more David than Saul, but either way, he is definitely an Old Testament kind of leader. Whether or not his character flaws bring him down, at least he is proud to fight the enemies of the people.
