Developer Update — March 3, 2018
Welcome to the latest installment in our ongoing dev. update series. We have some interesting details to share with you, so without further ado…
Movin’ on up (to a deluxe office in the sky)
First, let’s get that lovely photo out of the way. That view is the first thing you see when you walk into the new DPP office. Not bad, right?
After three years of hard work and expansion, we finally outgrew our old home and it was finally time to set-up shop in a new home that matched the demands of our growing business.
It’s only been a few short weeks now, but we already feel at home and hope to create as many great memories and achieve even greater goals within these new walls.
Data is green
Data, data and more data. Since our last update, we have continued work on the data collection component. Data streams are the heart of our system. As such, we’re spending significant resources to ensure this is stable, highly accessible, and scalable. We’re collecting millions of data points per day across dozens of exchanges. Development of this component has went furthest as the team has spent hours with optimisation and implementation.
Via an intuitive and clean dashboard UI, the entire collection component can be managed and tracked. More on the UI in the near future.
The Node Editor and your Personal Cloud
We’re actively making updates and tweaks to the Personal Cloud and Node Editor — Efficiently storing, retrieving, and updating user strategies has been improved. Under the hood of the Node Editor, we’ve leveraged the power of Git in order to simplify the development process of strategies so they’re even easier to manage without the fuss of dealing directly with Git. New editor nodes have also been implemented and more are arriving soon. More details on this will be available at a later time.
Private POA Ethereum Network
Two new Authority nodes have successfully started to mine blocks, bringing our network to 6 validator nodes. We expect to add more soon.
Work on the validator contract has also seen great strides, further simplifying the process of dynamically adding new validators to the network. The first versions of user and strategy smart contracts are deployed on the network, but more work needs to be done. We have also continued to expand our smart contract team as we see bright future in this domain.
AI Module
Now to the hardware front. We have production hardware being set up on two co-locations — and new AI machines on the way. The machines are being prepared for the upcoming platform release. We know many of you are curious about the AI module as it is something completely unique to our platform. We can confirm that the module is fully functional and that we are please with the results. Later this month, our AI Scientist Ivan Filkovic will be providing you with an update focusing specifically on the module.
Marketing
It’s been quieter than usual as of late and that was part of the plan. We’ve been hard at work preparing to launch the new brand. Positioning ourselves as a brand comes with careful strategic planning and creative coordination. We’re nearly ready to show off the fruits of labour — Follow us on Twitter and join our Telegram group to make sure you don’t miss any major announcements.
In the coming weeks following the launch of the new brand, you’ll notice marketing of the platform will increase significantly. We’re especially excited to reveal the new website and begin releasing developer updates as a video series. Suffice to say, there is a lot of content coming your way. We’re listening to your questions and they will all be answered. We’re extremely excited to share our vision for the future of Digital Assets Power Play.
