A quick overview of Digital Asset Power Play’s UI Node

After starting work on the node editor which you can see in the video on our website, we have continued our efforts in creating a home for the node-based editor and other components — we have continued to implement the User Interface Node. In our Whitepaper, the User Interface Node is described as the “user’s entry-point into the platform, featuring innovative modular UI, a code editor, node editor, and custom personal screens” along with “tight coupling between mobile and desktop versions allowing for quick screen switching and creation without constantly having to use your computer, but also for secure user identification”.

For the User Interface Node, we’re working with Electron which has proven to be a perfect tool for modern applications such as Mist (“the tool of choice to browse and use Ðapps”), Slack, Github desktop, MongoDB Compass, Postman, Gitkraken and many many others. As Github puts it, the Electron is “the new native”.

These days, with the variety of devices we use daily, it’s expected to have desktop and mobile access to the platform. But often these two worlds are separated — either we use desktop or mobile, as if they don’t know about each other or it’s too difficult to keep them synced.

However, DAPowerPlay have decided to explore possibilities for effectively connecting our desktop and mobile platforms, enabling users seamless and synchronized experience across all devices. This will help users stay focused on their goals, strategies, and investments while ensuring time is never wasted.

An illustration of our multi-platform User Node Interface.

With more data sources available, it can take a while to go through everything before you’re ready to make a decision on what trade to execute, and what web-based content to access. You’re bound to waste time typing different URLs (or even worse, digging through hundreds of bookmarks to find that great data source you encountered months ago), switching endless tabs, and logging into different platforms. With web3 Đapps coming in the near future, the number of data sources is growing exponentially. So we decided to fix this and saw the need to accumulate all these sources in one place, allowing for easy and intuitive access through views/dashboards, all while enabling users to build their own environment fitted to their needs.

Our first implementation of the User Interface Node explores the possibilities of syncing your mobile and desktop devices to create a more comfortable and efficient interface, giving you the ability to design and navigate different views/dashboards on the go. You can even sit back, relax, and use your mobile device to as a controller and your desktop/tv screen as a display

We will continue to work on advancing the User Interface Node and the Node Editor. In our next development blog posts we will focus in more detail on the, already implemented and working, Collector module deployed to the cloud — and how can we make it more secure and stable by enabling the User Interface Node to help gather and validate collected data so we as a community can work together to make algorithmic trading even more transparent and secure.
