I do realize this is true but also very difficult to explain, and I think it’s also very different from country/culture to country/culture. For example, in Italy, I think what you say is true because of many reasons.
I want to name just a couple of them:
Once I finished my college, my computer science teacher asked me: would you like to teach computer science?

But it’s very easy for me.
Since I’ve learned to code at school.
And when I went to take an Economic degree I did realize that I would have never been a programmer in my life.
