I see we have the statistic that 93% of men would not send harassing messages if they had agreed to a pledge first saying they would not, but what % would send the harassing messages if they hadn’t agreed to a pledge first? As a man who never sent a harassing message in years of using the service, I can see the value of the pledge but also feel as though men in general are being unfairly generalized as needing to take this pledge. I respect women, always have, as equal human beings in every regard, and I am somewhat disappointed that people like me should have to take part in a step motivated by the individuals who could not.
I mean, how you would react normally and without external limitations is really sort of your first test for what sort of a person you really are isn’t it?
However, having said that, if this helps make the site a more welcoming place for women then, I guess ultimately that’s better for everyone.
Speaking of respecting ourselves and being better than something, do you have to use “Safe As Fuck” for a new policy aimed at communicating with one another in a manner that is less obscene? The irony…
