On #Brexit–Latest Notations
The #Brexit Fallout is continuing with no apparent end in sight. The petition for a 2nd Referendum has gathered over 3.2 Million Signatures–although there are apparent allegations of fraud and some 77,000 signatures have been removed. We also understand that the caretaker Prime Minister, David Cameron has said that there will not be a second vote. This is as Scotland’s First Minister has said that Scotland will try to potentially block a UK Exit.
As we went to press here, we understand that jockeying for leadership in a post-Cameron era has begun with Boris Johnson beginning meetings with Conservative Members of Parliament. This is as The Labor Party is plunged into a crisis of its’ own as a number of key members of the so-called “Shadow Cabinet” following the firing of the Shadow Foreign Spokesman, Hillary Benn. The Business Secretary, Saeed Javid, has said businesses should not panic–but the confidence factor is very much at play here as the World awaits and as the leave folks seem to be “in hiding” for now. The divide was very much in evidence as Boris Johnson was heckled and called out a “scum” as he left his house in London the day after the vote. This is as David Cameron will be in Europe Tuesday to explain the vote and as Europe clamours for an early triggering of Article 50.
Our team could not help but wonder whether this will be the time that the Liberal Democrats will emerge from the ashes of #Brexit:
