I tend to agree with you Kurt — except on the point about non-achievement. The fact that he hasn’t been able to make greater strides in policy is due to the perverse aversion to government intervention by a significant majority in the US. Contrary to right-wing popular opinion — government needs to play a much greater role in addressing imbalances and inequality in society not least of which is to reign in the infettered power of monopolistic corporates and the rich list who have effectively overtaken government as policy-makers. Democracy? — pull the other one.
