January 2022 Jury Trial Highlights
A look at some of the cases that went to trial in the first month of the year
(Dallas) — The Frank Crowley Courthouse has been a busy place in 2022. Once the holidays concluded, it was back to business for our staff at the District Attorneys Office.
Here are some jury trial highlights from January 2022:
Defendant: Jeremiah Robinson
Found guilty of murder and sentenced to 45 years in the Texas Department of Corrections for the murder of LD Cox, a popular Carter High School football player.
Defendant: Kephren Thomas
Found guilty of murder and sentenced to Life in Prison for the killing of Jessica Hernandez. Her body was put in a suitcase and throw into a dumpster in Irving.
Defendant: Angie Gomez
Found guilty of Intoxication Manslaughter and sentenced to 5 years in the Texas Department of Corrections. Gomez had a BAC of .16 and was driving the wrong way on 75 from Haskell until Lovers Lane when she crashed with Keunta Ray, killing her.
Defendant: Bobby Earl Roberts
Founds guilty of Murder and sentenced to 40 years in the Texas Department of Corrections for the shooting death of his close friend Richard Pena.
Defendant: Davion Scott
Found guilty of Murder and sentenced to 40 years in the Texas Department of Corrections for the killing of Andre Menefee.
Defendant: Tony McKinney
Found guilty of stealing from his employer and sentenced to 6 months probation with full restitution.
Defendant: Bernardo Reycac
Found guilty of Sexual Assault of a Child. Sentenced to 9 years in the Texas Department of Corrections.
Defendant: Willie Williams
Found guilty of Sexual Assault of a Child and sentenced to 12 years in the Texas Department of Corrections
