How to read faster
When I was in first year college, I enjoyed the modules and topics being covered but struggled to read as I would get lethargic and unmotivated to continue. Over the past couple of years I have found a few tricks that has made me enjoy reading.

The basics to staying awake is to get your body working as best as possible, A clean diet, lots of water, exercise and a great nights sleep. When you have work that will take a few hours to complete, make sure stretch and move every 30 minutes.
If you are doing work online download the extension ‘Spreed’. This extension compiles all the text on screen and display’s single words at a time. This may sound like a slow process but you can adjust speed according to user preference. An average paperback reader will read 40 wpm (words per minute) and above 100 wpm is considered very high. With this tool you will be able to read 400+ wpm.
If you are to read, I have found if available, reading on a tablet/eReader to be easier as my eyes have grown to the LED screen rather than paperback. Between Amazon and Google, textbooks are becoming more accessible online for free or for a fraction of the cost to hard back. Good for your mind and the environment!

If paperback is your only option or preferred choice of consuming information, read with a purpose, understand what you looking to achieve from what is in front of you. Take note and understand words that you do not understand. Some readers reward themselves after reading X amount of pages or chapters in one sitting. If the reading is for yourself, find a book that would be of interest to you for enjoyment or self progression. If you are reading for educational or work, understand this information with further you in the future and will be beneficial.
Sometimes you want to read but you don’t have time! Either set aside time within your day/week or check out audio books, a book that is read to you. I enjoy audio books while commuting to work, out for a walk or chilling out at home.
Reading is to the mind, what exercise is to the body.
