To be candid, Jake, I do not know who Chester is, but that does not detract from the heart of your message. Two things came to mind as I read your post — 1. There is a plasticity to social media which seems to push people in one of two ways. Either we display this Teflon existence to which nothing bad could ever possibly stick, thus we slide through life on the ice of blessedness, or we vomit every ill, every mosquito bite, every hangnail and stomach ache. Social media is not reality, and in reality people have genuine challenges, real pain. 2. As one who worked for many years in full-time ministry, there is a similarity to social icons such as band members in that people look to you for solutions, for answers. Thus you are always expected to be “on.” Far be it from you to ever struggle or get a little down in heart. No, you are the one with the answers, the one we all turn to for solutions to OUR pain. It is unfair, but that is the reality of it.
