Is it just me or are brands starting to look the same on Instagram?

Yesterday I saw McDonald’s post this:

Not even 24 hours later, Chick-Fil-A posted this:

I get it. They’re both food brands. But at what point do customers no longer see the difference?

Every brand is so desperate to make their stuff look cool, original and “authentic” that now everyone’s stuff looks cool, original and authentic.

Maybe the way to stand out and get noticed on Instagram is to have blurry photos that are poorly lit. Which, by the way is how more and more customer’s photos are starting to look on Instagram.

What happened to brands just being themselves instead of trying to be like everyone else?

I’m sure you’ve had your own experience with brands you follow all starting to look the same.

Note: This is not a knock against McDonald’s or Chick-Fil-A by any means, its more of posing a question worth pondering.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
