Too many times.

While politicians talk, posture, add to their personal wealth . . . America’s finest young Daughters and Sons obey the call and pay the cost. Still, the politicians treat it all as a part of their personal power game — pointing fingers, dining at banquets, filling their pockets, releasing criminals to the streets and pretending that they are serving our Country.

Still, our Daughters and Sons die or return to us working hard to recover from wounds to body, mind and spirit. Some return to homelessness. Some to unemployment. Some unable to get medical care for the visible and invisible wounds that they suffered.

Too many of our Warriors, used-up by our Country and left to languish in the prison of their memories.

They watch as those who have contributed nothing to this nation are provided with housing, medical care and money — some of these recipients have lived in America their entire life and yet have contributed nothing. Others have just arrived.

Still, our Warriors wait.

Where is our shame?

Where is our resolve to change this?
