SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO FLY

Sometimes in April this year, I got this vision to bring young people under-20 in an annual conference treating specific issues to enable them grow to lead a good life and become the person of their dream. At this time, I felt the vision was bigger than me, all odds were against me — finance, planning and execution. I had every reason to throw-off this idea and continue with my other adventure. For days, the vision kept on coming to mind, I needed more conviction, I needed more study or research to the process, I needed to be sure of the impact it will make for my target group. After days, I felt convinced that it was going to make the biggest impact, but the odds — finance, planning and execution still played on me. I called a mentor afterwards and I shared the vision with her, “It is beautiful”, she said. I had done my study about planning this kind of event, coupled with my other experiences before the meeting with her, I had discovered speakers for the event and something bigger in me had also convinced me that it will happen. Also, because of my belief in God and the mystery of faith, I prayed and also got convinced that the conference will make the biggest impact in Africa. I spoke to a couple of friends who were doing big things in different fields and their feedbacks were encouraging, then the move started, the conference will happen this Saturday, 12th August in Lagos.

SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO FLY!
In specific times and moments of our life, we get this inspirational thought that could be life breaking unto another level for us but the ODDS always beat on us most times. The voice from the other end loudly tell us it’s impossible, our environment and circumstance clearly show it’s impossible, but I have also come to understand that the best things come from nothing or crude forms. The world in fact was made out of nothing, so nothing will ever happen until we see it happen and make it happen.
What are the odds beating against your life now?
Any odd we face at the moment is just to scare us away from reaching the other end of the tunnel, it is just to distract us from reaching our goal. God gave you one life and He gave you all to live it. At one time, you tell yourself it’s possible, at another time, you say to yourself it’s impossible. You are in your peak moment and this awesome thought comes to you, then you step out and it seems crazy and not realistic again.
PUT THE THOUGHT IN WRITING!
I led training at a prestigious college early this year in Lagos, and I spoke on the topic “Write your own story”. The reason why your goal does not seem convincing enough is because it is still in the air of your thought, you have to see it written clearly. Nothing is impossible if you believe. I imagine the Wright Brothers must have thought the idea of building an aircraft a crazy and unrealistic goal. What distinguished them from other persons is the ability to see beyond the odds and believing it will come. At high school, Ben Carson must have thought it impossible if anyone had told him that he would become the world greatest neurosurgeon above his academic odd at that time.
There is no height too high to reach and surpass, sometimes, you just got to fly.
Flying means giving up on your old model of thinking low and impossible, it means giving up on communities, groups, friends and sometimes mentor that bring you to some low estate and even make you feel impossible about your own self, it means giving into possibility, it means receiving the vision, first, before seeing into the impossibility. All the greatest persons ever lived or living took this step and they are celebrated in the world now.
You are more than the limit you set for yourself, grow unto GREATNESS!
