Twitch Plays Pokemon is the oddest thing ever

Let’s take a brief look at it.

Ok, Twitch plays Pokemon has become the greatest thing to happen to the internet in a while. Essentially, someone made it so that videogame streaming service Twitch could use chat inputs from viewers to control the main character in Pokemon Red in real time.

So naturally this has caused a pseudo religion and a bunch of memes to pop up. Here’s a chart that the internet made breaking down the religions that have been born.

Objects such as fossils and evolutionary stones have become the basis for religions with certain pokemon acting as prophets or even false prophets. People are even documenting the moment the Helix Fossil was revived, go see Kotaku. This is insanity at it’s absolute finest.

And the internet loves it, because the game operates on an anarchy or democracy system, with Helix followers enjoying the anarchy system.
