Why EVERY Single Business Needs a Copywriter

I use this analogy ALL the time.

Have you ever decided to purchase a new car…

And after you buy it, you start seeing it everywhere?

Or you discover a singer, and all of a sudden, you’re hearing their songs everywhere?

What the heck happened?

After all, it’s not like there are actually more of those cars on the road now.

And you’d already heard that singer’s music, but you probably weren’t paying attention. So what happens is…

Once you become aware of something, your brain begins consciously clocking it.

This happened to me recently when I started watching old music videos on YouTube…

After a handful of videos, I noticed superstars like Kanye West in older videos that I had seen dozens of times and never noticed before.

It was just now I was consciously aware of him, and he was in a lot of other artists’ videos before he became a household name.

So now, you might be wondering…

“That’s nice, but what on earth does this have to do with copywriting, Daniel?”

And it’s a good question.

Did you notice that a few years back, there seemed like there were very few copywriters around?

And now, some of you (myself included) can’t open your Facebook feed without seeing someone posting about copywriting.

Well, that’s because of that same phenomenon I mentioned before…

This phenomenon is known as the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon, otherwise commonly known as the frequency illusion or recency bias.

At some point, you became consciously aware of copywriting.

And these days, it seems like every man, woman, and child is pitching a service of some sort.

As a result, it causes people to say things like:

“There’s too much competition now. That market is oversaturated.”

“It’s too late to get into that industry, there’s no business left. Everybody who needs a copywriter already has one.”

This stuff really makes me laugh…

Because it couldn’t be further from the truth! The truth is…

There’s never been more demand for copywriters than there is right now.

Do you know why that is? Well, think about it…

The increasing competition in just about every industry means companies have no choice but to get more creative.

They can’t simply rely on talking about features anymore. People are sold by emotions now, not features.

Traditional branding isn’t enough to move the needle.

As such, there’s a true, desperate need for writers who are creative, skillful, and reliable.

Not only that, but companies who already use copy effectively are always after new writers to bring ideas to the table with them.

When I worked for CaseFuel, it actually surprised me how many different pieces of copy they had for the same product or service.

Seeing even a 1% increase in conversions can be worth tens of thousands of dollars for companies that run a lot of traffic on a regular basis.

To that effect, a lot of those companies will regularly pay 4 and 5-figure fees to multiple writers working on selling the same product to find that 1% increase.

That’s exactly why the demand for copywriting is so huge.

It’s only going to get bigger as companies realize more and more how persuasion and storytelling are no longer nice-to-haves, they’re must-haves.

And if you know where to look…

It only takes a couple of good results until companies and writers alike have a mutually beneficial partnership.

So if you’re a writer or a company looking for the right connection…

There’s never been a better time to make a move than right now.
