Resurreccion- This is an artwork created by Mr. Hernando Ocampo. I love the way he delivers his creation. It’s really abstract and the viewers are challenged to know what his work is all about. For me this artwork conveys the message of resureccion that’s why it used bright colors such as yellow and orange. Resurreccion same thing with the dead people being brought to life again that’s why the colors are very bright.
Spoliarium- a very famous artwork made by Juan Luna who touched the hearts of many Filipinos. This painting shows how the Filipinos are being treated before and how others discriminate us. It is a significane to others so that people would be aware of what happened in the history.
Green Earth- an artwork made by Federico Alcuaz. This artwork catched my attention because of it’s colors and the combination made. I immediately understood what the painter wants to tell us. Green and black colors are present and the green symbolizes out green earth which was covered by bad things which is symbolized by the color black. It tells us that the earth have been polluted and it is destroyed more and more as time passes by irresponsible and undisciplined citizens so we should take good care of it because it is not a treasure but our debt for the next generation.
Birth- painted by German Icarangal. This artwork is a little abstract for me but I still got to see the message and image it is trying to show me. Different colors are painted in circular form and I think the middle color serves as the baby. So this painting shows significance about birth.
Rizal the Reformist- artwork made by Martino Abellana. This artwork has our national hero Jose Rizal. He is sitting and writing something and for me it tells us how Rizal fought for us from the past years which is through writing not through war and violence.
Bayanihan- painting made by Vicente Manansala. This painting shows how Filipinos do their daily tasks and works which helps build up social binds and their unity.
Man and Industry- painting made by Vicente Manansala. This painting shows a combination of the image of man and the image of industry. It signifies the union between man and industry and how it help us and make our lives easier through a variety of things invented through time.
500 years of Philippines history- image made by Carlos Francisco. This image shows a woman and a child that is looking down and somehow looking scared and sad. For me, what i understood about this message is that based from the title, 500 years of Philippine History, this painting shows how people before are mistreated by people who are higher in level.
