DAR Open Network Explained Series #1: Understanding the Core Principles

Welcome to the first article of the DAR Open Network Explained Series. In this article series, our goal is to help you understand the elements of the DAR Open Network just like understanding how a universe was formed.
The Beginning
It all began with Mines of Dalarnia, the first and foremost game in the Dalarnian Universe, which started way back in 2020 as an experiment for Web 3.0 gaming followed by mainnet launch of Mines of Dalarnia in April 2022 on BNB chain.
Imagine Mines of Dalarnia as the founding star that sparked the birth of the entire Dalarnia universe. Just as a star radiates light and energy, Mines of Dalarnia illuminates our ecosystem, fueling its growth and vitality.
Expanding Beyond Mines of Dalarnia
Exploring the unique proposition of Web 3.0 gaming was always at the forefront of Mines of Dalarnia. With the expansion towards the DAR Open Network, we take the next step on utilizing the opportunities of an established WEB 3.0 game with our native token $DAR and player-owned assets.
DAR open network and the Dalarnia Multiverse is an interconnected space where players and developers can share the power of our technology, assets, and experiences.
At the Core of the Dalarnia Multiverse is Dalarnia Nexus — a central gamified social platform that will link different games together and will serve as every players’ and community members’ entry point into the ever expanding DAR platform.
Mines of Dalarnia will be the only source for Mines of Dalarnia specific assets such as resources within the Dalarnia Multiverse, which makes it a crucial component of the Multiverse Economy. How? Mines of Dalarnia resources will be used and needed in accessing, unlocking and experiencing other features and games within the DAR Open Network.
Now that you understand the importance of Mines of Dalarnia and the role of Dalarnia Nexus, let’s delve deeper into the Dalarnia Multiverse.
A Multiverse for Players
Having our present and future players and community in mind, we want to offer not just one type of gaming experience, but a diverse range of experiences by incorporating different genres into the ecosystem, utilizing web 3.0 USPs like asset ownership and interoperability to its fullest..
This led to the conceptualization of the Dalarnia Multiverse — a collection of diverse games and gaming experiences fully integrated within the DAR Open Network. Think of the Dalarnia Multiverse as an ever expanding constellation that enriches and completes the DAR Open Network.
Over time, more games will be introduced and integrated, making Dalarnia Multiverse rich in different experiences with a diverse choice of genres that allows all kinds of players to find a game that fits their preferences. Next in line after Mines of Dalarnia will be Dalarnia Legends — a Collectible Card Game (CCG) that merges AI art with strategic gameplay and fun, quick PvP sessions.
You can imagine the Dalarnia Multiverse as a vast universe of online gaming that comprises different platforms and games — both from internal developments and external partners, that are kept together by Dalarnia Nexus and fueled by Mines of Dalarnia.
To support our vision for players in expanding the Dalarnia Multiverse, two other elements play an equally crucial role in the whole DAR Open Network Ecosystem — The Dalarnia Portal and the Dalarnia Launchpad. Want to learn more? Keep reading!
A Space for Developers
Dalarnia Portal serves as a foundational pillar for WEB 3.0 game development, offering developers essential tools to transform their visions into reality. With Dalarnia Portal, we empower developers to craft games that could be integrated into the expansive Dalarnia Multiverse by accessing tools like a unified Dalarnia ID (account creation), quest system, and more.
A Platform Powered by the Community
Now that we know games for the Dalarnia Multiverse will use tools from Dalarnia Portal, let’s focus on the last, but definitely not least, element of our ecosystem: Dalarnia Launchpad. It is an innovative platform dedicated to introducing new and engaging games — whether they are in-house-developed or partner-developed games — to users.
The launch or integration of the games in the Dalarnia Multiverse is determined by the community governance. Here, players won’t just be able to see all the games, prototypes, and concepts, but also pick their favorite ones through the governance system.
As we mentioned in our very first article, “A key aspect of this transformation is the focus on our community. We believe in a world where players are not just consumers but active participants in the gaming universe.”
Aimed at revolutionizing Web 3 gaming, DAR Open Network was born to be co-created between players and developers.
