I am aware of this, my point is that it is unusual for them to choose and use a modifier to describe skin colour at such an early age. We are not talking of children generally, but one VERY young child. I have lived in Europe, UK, Africa, and the Pacific Islands and in all those places colour prejudice exists but I find jarringly unusual to hear a very small child speak in such a manner. It does not ring true, it does not seem natural. This is a writing oriented forum, and my comment is from the point of view of an editor. The dialogue seems forced.
