I often focus on the lyrics of a song and ignore the music of it for the first few play throughs. At first I doubt this statement, but now I know its true, after hours upon hours of the same songs but only acoustic it must be true. I thought I would highlight some of the lyrics that Ive fallen in love with. My wife was amazing today. She took such good care of me. Allowed me to defocus on the children, to relax and not focus on the stress. I love my children but having them for so long at a time is stressful when I cant correct or change any of the things they do. Their mother is constantly downplaying our involvement and coaching the children to not enjoy our house or the things we do for them. Today she did the dishes, made lunch, folded and washed clothes, helped manage the kids and all of this with a smile on her face and love in her heart. I think that is so beautiful and I am so grateful for a woman like this in my life. I just hope I dont screw it up. She is better than I deserve. So these are some lyrics that when I hear remind me and allow to focus on how why and how much I love my wife.(not that I need help, just is nice to sing it ☺)
I won’t let go — Rascal Flatts
“I know its dark
This part of life
It finds us all but we’re too small to stop the rain
Oh but when it rains
I will stand by you
I will help you through
When youve done all you can do
And you cant cope
I will dry your eyes
I will fight your fight
I will hold you tight
And I wont, let, go”
“For my wedding
I will dress in black
Never again
will I look back
Oh my dark angels
We must part
For I have made a sanctuary of my heart
to want what i have
and to take what i am given
with grace
for this i pray
on my wedding day
For my wedding
I don’t want violins
or sentamental songs about thick and thin
i want a moment of silence
and a moment of prayer
for the love we will need to make it
in the world out there
…
So what makes us any different
From all the others
Who have tried and failed before us
maybe nothing
maybe nothing at all
but I dream we are the lucky ones
I pray we never fall”
What makes you beautiful — Boyce Avenue(I know someone else wrote/sings this but I like this version best)
“Don’t need makeup
to cover up
being the way that you are is enough
everyone else in the room can see it
everyone else but you
baby you light up my life like nobody else
the way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelemd
the way you smile at the ground
it aint hard to tell
you dont know your beautiful
and that’s what makes you beautiful”
