The main point I heard in Cairo’s talk was that Activity Based Working was successful when you gave people a desk but also created spaces to move to and perform different activities, together or as an individual. When people are forced into ABW, (or anything for that matter), they tend to resist, especially if they have not had the goals and benefits explained to them. The Wellington earthquakes forced a number of changes for businesses. Sometimes choice is removed by uncontrollable circumstances.
