This was a great read and I enjoyed your point of view on the subject as well. I think many of our Caucasian family members don’t understand is why their is something celebrating the black pride; whether it is black history month, certain shows, and even music videos. We are always in the process of building our self-esteem because society is always telling our community that we aren’t pretty enough, smart enough, or light enough. So it was a nice way to celebrate who we uniquely are.
