Rain is not always beautiful.

This is about a night which was followed by a beautifully spent day. After meeting my friends in New Delhi, I had to catch a train at 10:50 in the night( which was supposedly at 8:50). You get it into the head when your head does not figure out the difference between 20:50 and 10:50. Hard luck that i missed my train.

background: it has been drizzling since morning with a high humidity on 3rd of July 2016. Towards the part of the night when i was struggling to get another train ticket home, it started raining even heavier. My friend accompanied me to the station. Took 3 rounds of the weirdly stretched railway station crossing 7 platforms. By that time i had realized it was a bad day , Haa ! But who knew what else is to come further.

Called my dad in a hurry and told him about the situation. He was upset though booked another ticket for me of a following early morning train. So now i decided to go back with my friend and stay there for a few hours before i left for the station again in the morning. Booked a cab which was hard to locate at the station due to cars stuck in rain and traffic. But somehow, half washed down in rain, we managed to get into the cab and leave for home.

I was half way with my shock of missing the train when our cab got hit by a white BMW. Given it was a weekend night, the driver must have been drunk, he HIT and RAN !
I remember seeing a flash of light and BOOM !

I hit my leg at the car seat nuts below and sprained my palm. It was a really bad night. By the time we came out of the cab, there was a crowd pull but the car had rushed its way back after hitting us. We stood with our luggage at India Gate in the rain half dead ( mentally) in the middle of the night. Ola and Uber also could not help us. None of the drivers were ready to go. After calling an emergency vehicle through Uber, we got another cab.

This driver was way too over smart. He assured us that he knew all the pits and holes on the road and has an good experience in driving. FINE ! TAKE US HOME.

Believe me THERE WAS NO PIT THAT HE DID NOT JUMP THE CAR ON !! So what else could happen. 15 mins away from home and the tyres got punctured.

So again we had to come out on road with such heavy rain and heavy luggage. Having no option left, we decided to take an auto home. Convinced a Ric to drop us home for which he wanted to charge us 10 times more.

Oh and how could i forget to tell that the two cabs that we took were paid at 2X due to rain and odd hours.

Now this auto that we took, after 10 minutes got stopped due to high water logging in the near by lanes. So we were again on the street this time with water and some shitty material flowing pass under our legs. And the luggage, And the non stop rain. We crossed this, and stood at a raised ATM near by, Thanks to KOTAK MAHINDRA !

My friend asked his brother, who was supposedly not sober, but helped us. He came with the car, at first skipped us and went further, but then after a long wait at the traffic, he finally became our Saviour. We went home. Was scared and mentally exhausted by the time we reached home. Could not sleep but boarded a train in the morning (rain had stopped but i caught a viral fever, possibly because of getting drenched in rain. )

Reached Bhopal Safely.
