Announcement: Datawallet Token Sale Dates

we’d like to start things off by saying that we are honored and humbled to have received so much positive feedback for what we are building at Datawallet. The excitement and demand that has built up around our platform constitutes further proof for us of what had gotten us to embark on this mission three years ago: a future where people are the sole owners, distributors, and managers of their own data is inevitable.

Tokensale Dates
Due to the strong demand we have been facing for our token sale, we have decided to not keep you waiting much longer and open up the token sale this month. The times for our token sale are as follows:
The official kickoff date for the Whitelist Pre-Sale is 22 January 2018.
The Whitelist Pre-Sale will be open to all participants who have applied at www.datawallet.com To reiterate, there is no other whitelist registration form than the one directly accessible via www.datawallet.com. Please do not use any other website for submitting your whitelist application. The minimum contribution for the Whitelist Pre-Sale is USD$50,000 or an equivalent in ETH or BTC.
The Whitelist Pre-Sale will be opened incrementally, meaning that participation emails will be sent out in tiers on a first-come-first-served basis. We expect about 200–300 whitelisted applicants to be able to participate in the token sale per day.
Confirmation emails for individuals who have previously applied for a spot on the Whitelist will be sent out shortly. Due to security reasons we will not announce the exact date and time beforehand.
The official kickoff date for the Whitelist Public Sale is 5 February 2018.
Every applicant who did not qualify for the Whitelist Pre-Sale and who meets the geographic criteria of our token sale, may participate during our Public Sale. The minimum purchase during our public sale is USD$100 or an equivalent in ETH, BTC, or QTUM.
KYC and AML
Every applicant for, both, the Whitelist Pre-Sale and the Public Sale will be required to undergo rigorous Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) processes. You will be able to submit all required materials through our proprietary token sale platform. Links to this platform will be sent out via email from tokensale@datawallet.com alongside whitelisting confirmation.
List of Non-Eligible Countries
Datawallet retains the services of leading legal counsel McDermott Emery & Will (MWE). After a thorough legal analysis of several months, Datawallet has decided to impose geographic restrictions on its token sale. The tokens are not intended to be securities under the laws of any jurisdiction. However, given the uncertainty regarding how regulators may interpret their laws, particularly in the United States, please note that the tokens are not being offered or sold in the following countries:
Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Central African Republic, Crimea, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, New Zealand, People’s Republic of China, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Uganda, United States of America, Vanuatu, and Yemen.
Team Lockup
Since the team has already been working on Datawallet for 3 years, we initially did not impose a lockup on team tokens. However, we appreciate the demand for such lockup. Therefore, we have decided to lock 50% of all token retained by Datawallet for 12 months from the distribution of the token onwards.
CLARIFICATION: The lockup period only pertains to token retained by Datawallet for the team. Token purchased in the token sale do not have a lockup period.
